Grand United records
There is a wealth of types of Grand United (GU) records, created by branches, districts and Head Office. Some are meeting-related such as minutes and attendance books, some deal with membership matters such as membership registration books and others deal with the ceremonial aspects of the running of the order, such as rituals and lectures.
Note: The majority of the Grand United records are in Canberra at the Noel Butlin Archives Centre at the Australian National University. A small quantity of GU records is held at the Australian Unity Library in Melbourne.
The Australian Unity Library holds copies of some publications issued by Grand United. These include the OddFellow GUOOF and the Nutshell News.
The vast bulk of the Grand United branch records are for New South Wales, while a few Victorian records have survived.
