Australian Unity Healthcare has won the overall Outstanding Business Award in Service Excellence at the 2009 International Customer Service Professional (ICSP) Awards, as well as taking out the platinum award in the large business category, improving on last year's gold.
The ICSP Awards were held at the RACV Club in Melbourne on Friday 9 October 2009, coinciding with National Customer Service Week.
Amanda Hagan, group executive of Australian Unity Healthcare, is delighted that her team has been recognised for their focus and attention to customers.
"The ICSP Awards are the premier awards for the customer service industry in Australia and New Zealand, so for Australian Unity to be rated as the top service company in Australia is a fantastic achievement," Ms Hagan said.
The ICSP evaluated all functions across Australian Unity's Healthcare operations including call centre, all processing areas and support functions. As a part of the judging process, the ICSP conducted a detailed onsite visit looking at leadership and service culture, service and standards, training and development, continuous innovation and improvement, service resolution and responsiveness, and benchmarking service standards.
"This award is a resounding endorsement of the hard work undertaken by the Healthcare Operations team over the past 18 months, demonstrating best practice in the industry," Ms Hagan said.
The ICSP awards recognise the world class best practices of some of Australia's and New Zealand's best and most innovative customer service businesses.
Other finalists included AAMI, Apple, ANZ, Boost Juice, BUPA, CBA, Google, Jetstar, McDonalds, Pfizer, Qantas, Tru Energy, Virgin Blue, Westpac and Woolworths, among others.
