Australian Unity has a long history of community contribution dating back almost 170 years and actively works to give back to the communities in which we operate.
From our earliest beginnings as a leader in the popular movement for Federation, to the introduction of a nationwide survey to monitor Australians’ wellbeing and the recent formation of a charitable foundation, connection to community has underpinned much of who we are.
Today, our aim in the community is to improve the wellbeing of Australians in the areas of health, ageing and financial security, and to support and celebrate Australian achievements, heritage and culture.
Australian Unity has developed strong partnerships that have generated major initiatives such as the Australian Unity Wellbeing Index which offers valuable insights for policy makers. Other community initiatives include the Australian Unity Foundation. Find out more about our partnerships.
Australian Unity in association with the Australian Natives' Association (ANA) and Henry Lawson Memorial and Literary Society invite submissions of original bush poetry to be considered for the annual Australian Unity Bryan Kelleher Literary Award.
Bryan Kelleher was a long standing member of the ANA who was passionate about acknowledging and honouring Australian achievements. The Australian Unity Bryan Kelleher Literary Award is our way of celebrating and preserving the substantial contribution Bryan made during his long association with the ANA and the Henry Lawson Society.
