Bryan Kelleher 


Bryan Kelleher became a member of the Australian Natives’ Association when he joined the Caulfield Branch in 1940. He went on to serve on the ANA Board for 22 years, including a term as Chief President in 1973, and Federal President in 1978.

Bryan was continuing a proud family tradition of ANA membership - his father, uncle, brother and cousin were also members of the Caulfield Branch. Bryan moved from Caulfield to Chadstone in 1953 where he became a Foundation Member of the Chadstone Branch - and its inaugural Secretary.

Bryan Kelleher was passionate about acknowledging and honouring Australian acheivements and had a long involvement with the Henry Lawson Memorial & Literary Society which, in 1983 lead to the annual commemoration of the birth of Henry Lawson on the 17th June - a celebration which Australian Unity continues to support.

Bryan was involved in all aspects of ANA life. He was regular contributor to Anapress and was the author of many booklets, writing on a range of topics such as including Australian constitutional reform, ANA literature, art and science awards and Australian poetry.
